Suspect Sought in an Assault with Intent to Kill
(Washington, DC) The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in attempting to identify a suspect wanted in connection with an Assault with Intent to Kill that occurred at a Rite Aid in the 1400 block of Rhode Island Ave, NE.
On Friday, April 13, 2012 at approximately 12:22 pm, an adult male entered the Rite Aid convenience store located in the 1400 block of Rhode Island Ave, NE.
Once inside, the suspect announced a robbery and displayed a black handgun. The suspect shot an employee who sustained critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The suspect fled and was last seen in the area of the 1400 block of Channing St. NE. He is described as a 45-55 year old black male with a medium complexion, clean shaven, and a slim build. He was last seen wearing an off white or khaki baseball cap, a red hooded zipper sweatshirt with a black shirt underneath, black sweatpants, and black shoes.

Anyone who has knowledge of this case, knows the suspect’s identity or sees him, should take no action, but should immediately call police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this assault committed in the District of Columbia.
