Rainbow Clothing Store Robbery

Watch Commander Lt. Eddie Fowler Reports: This evening at approximately 8:15PM, First District personnel were dispatched to 823 H Street, NE, (Rainbow Clothing Store) for a robbery of an establishment. A black male, light complexion, 5'4" 140lbs, wearing a ski mask, black and orange jacket, and blue jeans, armed with a handgun forced his way into the establishment prior to closing, and demanded an employee give him the money in the cash register and safe. As the employee was attempting to retrieve the money, the male struck the employee in the back of the head with a gun. Thereafter, the male obtained an undetermined amount of money and fled out the rear of the store. There were no injuries associated with this offense. An immediate canvass of the area for the suspect produced negative results. The First District Detectives Office and Robbery Squad are investigating this offense.
