Suspect Sought in an Assault with Intent to Kill (Washington, DC) The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in attempting to identify a suspect wanted in connection with an Assault with Intent to Kill that occurred at a Rite Aid in the 1400 block of Rhode Island Ave, NE. On Friday, April 13, 2012 at approximately 12:22 pm, an adult male entered the Rite Aid convenience store located in the 1400 block of Rhode Island Ave, NE.
Once inside, the suspect announced a robbery and displayed a black handgun. The suspect shot an employee who sustained critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The suspect fled and was last seen in the area of the 1400 block of Channing St. NE. He is described as a 45-55 year old black male with a medium complexion, clean shaven, and a slim build. He was last seen wearing an off white or khaki baseball cap, a red hooded zipper sweatshirt with a black shirt underneath, black sweatpants, and black shoes. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this assault committed in the District of Columbia.
